Winter 2026 High-Demand Funds Incoming!
The non-nursing high-demand salary increases for Winter Quarter will be distributed to eligible faculty on the February 25 paycheck! Those faculty received all of the funds that the state provided the college for this purpose in accordance with the Workforce Education Investment Act of 2019 (WEIA), which totals $680,000 for this year.
Let’s be clear. The management of the college did not to give us these salary increases. The purpose of the WEIA funds the college received was to increase salaries of faculty who teach certain high-demand classes. WEIA funds used to have a proviso attached to them, which means that colleges were legally required to report to the state on how the money was used. College presidents lobbied state legislators to remove the proviso from the WEIA funds claiming it was an "administrative burden" to file this paperwork. The proviso was removed and instead the money was given to the general fund of the college. Even though the funds were still expected to be used for salary increases for faculty teaching high-demand classes, our management tried to keep it for themselves.
The reason this did not work is that the union fought back, both at the negotiating table and in public. Union members lobbied legislators, spoke to the Board of Trustees about the issue, and spoke to many faculty, staff, and students about it. The union would like to thank everyone who took action in support of getting our faculty their high-demand salary increases, but we would especially like to thank our high-demand bargaining team, Stephanie Bevans, Jennifer Casperson, Erika Fererri, Gabrielle McIntosh, and Mary Whitfield.

If you taught all high-demand classes in Winter 2026, your FTE would be 1.0 and your payment would be $1614.69.
Step 3: Check Your Paycheck
- Login to ctcLink.
- Click on HCM Self-Service > Payroll > Paychecks.
- Click on your 02/25/2026 paycheck to open the PDF of your paystub.
- In the Hours and Earnings section of the paycheck, there should be an entry with a description of High Demand Payment that has the same amount listed in the Earnings column as the amount listed in Joseph Roland’s email.
