Edie’s Diary #1: The Journey Begins!
Edie will be hiking the Pacific Crest Trail while the Edmonds College Federation of Teachers and the management of Edmonds College bargain for a new contract. Will Edie finish their hike before we have a new contract? Follow their journey here to find out!
Edie started her journey at Campo, the southern terminus of the Pacific Crest Trail near the US-Mexico border. They started walking on Wednesday, February 3, the same day that the Faculty Collective Bargaining Team and the Edmonds College management team began negotiations. As you may recall, the union submitted our intent to bargain on December 16, 2025. The management of Edmonds College declined to respond to our request to bargain for over a month before this meeting was held. Edie was sad that she had to wait so long to start her journey, but is very excited to begin walking. Edie is now heading towards Agua Dulce and should arrive there in 34 days on Monday, March 9.
Contract Negotiations Update

There was also some discussion about the broad priorities of the union negotiations team. You can learn more about the union’s negotiating platform at these websites:
Just as a reminder, the members of our Faculty Collective Bargaining Team are:
